Be Our Guest “Grey Stuff” Recipe

Have you tried the Grey Stuff at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom? If you have, you know how amazing it is! We wanted to try and recreate it at home and we were not disappointed! Disney Parks Blog posted a recipe of it earlier this year and I couldn’t believe it when I realized how easy it was to make! Follow along as we make some magic at home! Ingredients you will need:

  • 15 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 8 oz tube of cool whip
  • 1 3.4 oz package of instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 Tablespoons of instant chocolate pudding
  • 1 1/2 cups of cold whole milk
  • 12 sugar cookies (optional)
  • Decorative, edible sugar pearls (optional)

First, mix together the milk and vanilla pudding. Make sure you buy the 3.4 oz package of pudding! There are different sizes so make sure you get the right one! Once those are mixed together well (the thicker the better!), chill it in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

While the mixture was chilling, we crushed up our sandwich cookies. We put them in a Ziploc bag, then crushed them with a rolling pin and our hands the best we could. Then we put the crumbs in a food processor to grind them into a fine powder.

After 2 hours, mix the cookie crumbs into the pudding mixture. Then add cool whip and chocolate pudding. Then chill for another hour in the fridge!

To make this look “pretty and presentable”, I bought a piping bag set and some edible sugar pearls at Walmart. You do NOT need this to enjoy this dish, however it’s always fun to go the extra mile, especially if the kiddos are helping! The piping bag was very easy to use and the mixture was just the right amount of thickness!

The picture on the left is what you will get at the Be Our Guest restaurant and the picture on the right is what we made! They look a little different, but it’s understandable…I’m sure they use a few different ingredients in the restaurant since they have to make it in such large quantities. We love how it tasted and would definitely make it again! A fun idea I had…you could change up the pudding flavors to make different combinations! Have fun and make some awesome memories as you go along! If you make this, please tag me on Instagram (pixie.dust.mom) ! I would love to see it!

I’ll be back soon with another Disney recipe experience to share!
