Our Top 5 Favorites Rides For Toddlers at Magic Kingdom

“The idea of Disneyland is a simple one. It will be a place for people to find happiness and knowledge. It will be a place for parents and children to share pleasant times in one another’s company; a place for teachers and pupils to discover greater ways of understanding and education. Here the older generation can recapture the nostalgia of days gone by, and the younger generation can savor the challenge of the future.” -Walt Disney

Walt Disney envisioned a place where people of all ages would be able to have fun together and enjoy their day. That’s how Disneyland and Disney World came to be. There are so many things that the old and young alike can enjoy together at Disney World. Yes, there are some rides that have height requirements, but a lot of them don’t, especially in Magic Kingdom. That’s where this post comes into play. These are our Top 5 Favorite Rides for Toddlers (and the whole family) at Magic Kingdom.

  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Take a ride in a honeypot and venture through scenes from some of the classic Winnie the Pooh adventures! This ride only takes about 3 minutes, so if it’s a long wait, it might not seem worth it for such a short ride, but it is a very cute and fun ride for the little ones.
  • Under The Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – Ride in a seashell and go under the sea to visit Ariel and her friends! On this ride, you will hear all the classic songs from the movie! It’s a dance party every time we get to the “Under The Sea” room! Young and old will be dancing along with the music! The whole “Little Mermaid” area in Fantasyland is just adorable too! The princesses in your family will love it!
  • Peter Pan’s Flight – Just like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, this ride is relatively short, lasting only 3 minutes, but it’s a classic (it’s one of the original rides in Disney World from opening day), so please don’t skip it! Hop aboard a flying ship and ride over London and Neverland as you see the storyline of Peter Pan unfold in front of you! It’s a cute ride for the whole family!
  • It’s A Small World – Another original opening day ride, this is a must do ride for the whole family! Yes, the song may get stuck in your head, but the message behind it is so beautiful and pretty applicable to what we are going through in our world right now. It’s a great ride to get out of the rain or take a break from the heat!
  • Dumbo – If you go to the Magic Kingdom, you have to ride Dumbo! It’s basically a rite of passage. You can control how high you go, so if you’re not a fan of heights, it’s still doable! Kids always seem to love it and it gives you a really great view of Fantasyland from above!

So those are our Top 5 favorite rides for toddlers in Magic Kingdom! Yours might be different than ours so I would love to know what you think! Some other rides that would fall in the category of no height requirement and good for toddlers or smaller children are:

  • Teacups
  • Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Liberty Square Riverboat
  • People Mover in Tomorrowland (does get completely dark for a few minutes so could be scary for little ones but ours loved it)

Since the parks have reopened, I have edited this from it’s original version to take into account that there are currently no FastPasses and lines are MUCH shorter for rides from what I am seeing. As things begin to open back up even more, things may change, but these rides will still be there regardless, so it’s always good to plan ahead for your trip with littles! Have fun and be safe!
